VILLAGE UP LIFT : NEED OF THE TIME

India is a country of villages. The majority of the Indian people live in villages. About 70% Indians live in villages. Villages are the soul of India. The condition of the villages is not good. The villagers are poor. There are no good roads. There are no Hospital or good doctors in the villages. There  is no proper arrangement for the treatment of the sick. The majority of the villagers are illiterate. There are no proper facilities for educating the villagers. They do not have sufficient provision for amusements. The villages lack sanitary care. They do not know the value of cleanliness.
There is dirt and dirt everywhere int he village. Dirt breads germs of discase. Therefore Villagers fall an easy prey to diseases. The villagers get no medical help. The two classes of men live in the villages. Most of the people belong to the class of have-nots They have nothing of their own. They are landless. Some of the people belong to the class of haves. They have their own lands for cultivation. These two classes of men live side by side in the villages. Today the condition of villagers have a dirty life they get no medical help. Their children are left uneducated. the villages lack sanitary. The villages need reconstruction. The root of poverty and all the problems of the villagers needs improvement. There should be arrangements for teaching in the villages. The villagers and their children should be educated. There should be a night schools there. In night schools adult men and women should be taught reading and writing. There should be a high school there. The boys  and girls of the village should be educated there. There should be libraries, radio/video and T.V. services. These will enable them to learn modern methods of cultivation and rules of health. There should be free dispensary in the villages. The villagers should be given free medical-aid in time. They should be taught to live neat and clean and keep their houses clean. There should be arrangement of good roads. electricity and drinking water in the villages. The chief occupation of the villagers is agriculture. They should be thought to  make the land fertile, use modern methods and mannres. The villagers do not have the alternative occupations except. agriculture Arrangements should be made to train them in handicrafts and other small industries. This will be a source of additional income for them. The government has been trying to improve the condition of the villages. The Government has introduced the Village. Panchayat system. The village development programmes under Block Development schemes. The work of the Government is graddually. being transferred to villages. Its aim is to make villagers self-sufficient.
